Fireluke Mesh Sub-Ohm Tank: No Regrets
By Jens P.
At first glance the Freemax Fireluke Mesh Sub-Ohm Tank isn’t much to look at as far as the style department goes. Whether you choose the Carbon Fiber or the Resin edition, or even the standard rendition, the tank design lacks in creativity but does redeem itself when it comes to its size. The tank is shorter than many of the other sub-ohm tanks on the market including the direct competitor by Horizon Tech, the falcon, and therefore looks good on a variety of mods including the smaller box mods and stick devices on the market.
Luckily looks are not something that I count in as a deciding factor of my vape gear, it’s performance that counts and from the first coil head, in this case one of the kanthal heads provided with the tank, I was instantly won over to what I thought was only hype on social media, where everyone was raving about how much flavor these new mesh coil tanks were putting out. Now, I don’t know if it’s more flavor, or different flavor, because measuring the amount of flavor an atomizer is putting out, because unless it is drastically noticeable because of something muting the entire profile you are used to, is very difficult and as mentioned by reviewers who recommend juices, is always subjective in nature.
However, I can tell you with confidence that whether you are an RDA/RTA vaper or someone who is vaping with premade round wire coil heads, that using these new mesh sub-ohm tanks, especially the freemax fireluke which has become one of my favorites, will be a new and surprising experience and in my opinion the vape produced by them will highlight different notes and nuances in your juice that you may not have tasted before.
Research has shown that different flavor profiles will stand out more at different temperatures and even how fast a coil hits a certain temperature will make a difference. Given the fast ramp-up time and even distribution of heat across the entire cotton this definitely brings out some of the top notes in fruits, and even the heavy cream and custard base notes that many of us crave when inhaling thick clouds of vapor.
There is nothing worse than a huge cloud with dull flavor, When vaping a cheesecake I want to both feel like the heavy cream of the cake is dissolving in my mouth as well as see the thick vapor as I exhale which subconsciously reinforces what my taste buds are experiencing. This tank does just that. FLAVOR MACHINE!
Now, the coil heads, which have been a big point of discussion around the web among new users looking for an extended vape time from their previous generation of tanks which almost all provided you with a mediocre 2-4 days maybe a week if you vape really lightly of use. Well, after trying both the kanthal and stainless coils, I am convinced that yes, these will last longer than your average old-school style coil head. BUT, they will not be at their best the whole way through. I am noticing the first 3-4 days they are at the best possible flavor they can provide and then for about another week they provide a great vape, but the flavor is slightly less, at least when it comes to some of the more hidden flavors in the juices, which these coils are able to bring out when brand new.
I also found the kanthal coils to last slightly longer than the stainless steel ones, however, the stainless steel coils seemed slightly more flavorful at the beginning before leveling off with the kanthal coils for the second half of the coils life. Overall, you can’t really go wrong with either one and I highly recommend trying both to find out which one works best for your palate. The other great thing is here at Eightvape, I only paid 11.95 for 5 coils heads. While horizon tech only gives you 3 for around the same price, getting 5 coils for under 15 bucks, all of which last such a long time is a killer deal!
So what are you waiting for, don’t let me stop you or waste any more time from you going and trying one out yourself? Because these new mesh coils are no joke… and you also won’t have any regrets trying them out!
